Applying as a Jury Member
Jury members play a critical role in ensuring fair and credible competition outcomes. Here is how to apply.
How to Apply
- Log in to your Pentas account (or register if you do not have one)
- Navigate to the competition you wish to evaluate for
- Click Apply as Jury on the competition page
- Complete the jury application form — include your area of expertise, qualifications, and any relevant experience
- Submit the form
Application Review
Your application will be reviewed by the competition organiser. You will receive an email notification once your application is approved or rejected. Approved jury members will gain access to the evaluation portal before the judging period begins.
Conflict of Interest Declaration
Before you can begin evaluating, you must complete a Conflict of Interest Declaration. This is a mandatory step where you disclose any relationships with the competing teams that could bias your evaluation — for example, if a team member is your student, colleague, or family member.
Pentas automatically detects some conflicts based on institutional data, but you are still required to make a declaration to confirm you have no undisclosed conflicts.
What Happens If You Fail to Declare?
Failure to disclose a material conflict of interest is a breach of the platform's Terms of Service and may result in your scores being disqualified and your account being suspended.
