How to Evaluate Projects

Once you have been approved as a jury member and completed your conflict declaration, you can begin evaluating your assigned projects.

Accessing the Evaluation Portal

Log in to Pentas and go to your Jury Dashboard
You will see a list of teams assigned to you for evaluation
Click on a team to view their submission details and project files

Scoring On-Site (Offline Mode)

If your competition includes on-site judging, open your jury dashboard before the event and click Prepare for on-site day. This saves your assigned on-site projects to your device — team details, the rubric, and poster images — so you can work at the venue without relying on venue Wi-Fi. Videos are not downloaded; they are not needed for on-site scoring.

At the venue you can score as usual even without internet. Scores submitted offline are queued safely on your device and upload automatically once you are back online — a sync indicator in the header shows your connection state and how many scores are still waiting to upload.

Scoring with the Rubric

Each team is evaluated using a standardised rubric provided by the competition organiser. The rubric contains multiple criteria, each with:

A description of what is being assessed
A maximum score for that criterion
An input field for you to enter your score

Review the team's submission materials thoroughly before assigning scores. If the competition has multiple judging rounds (for example, video and on-site), each round is scored separately against its own rubric — the organiser combines them into the weighted final score. You may also leave written comments for each criterion to justify your scores.

Submitting Your Scores

Once you have scored all criteria for a team, click Submit Scores. Submitted scores can be revised until the evaluation deadline, after which they are locked.

Best Practices

Evaluate each team independently — do not compare them against each other while scoring
Be consistent in how you apply the rubric across all teams
If you are unsure about a conflict mid-evaluation, stop and contact the competition organiser immediately
