About the Project

Ask any student what they dread most in Calculus III, and multiple integrals will often top the list. Between juggling double and triple integrals, switching coordinate systems, and picturing solids in three dimensions, it is easy for learners to feel lost, especially when lectures leave them listening more than doing. We wanted to change that experience. GamiCalc-MICP is our answer: a Multiple Integral Crossword Puzzle that turns demanding calculus practice into something students actually look forward to. Each Across and Down clue is carefully matched to Calculus III learning outcomes, moving from simple definition recall to evaluating iterated integrals. Along the way, students work through polar, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates, and connect the mathematics to real uses such as surface area, center of mass, and the volume of solids. Delivered as a printable worksheet, it fits easily into tutorials, homework, warm-up activities, or group revision sessions, and it invites students to think aloud and solve together. Early classroom use and feedback from educators are encouraging. Students seem less anxious and more motivated when facing multi-step problems. The act of recalling answers to fill in the grid also helps them remember formulas and understand how limits of integration are built. MICP is a simple, low-cost, ready-to-use teaching aid that shows how a little play can support serious mathematics. Created on 20 January 2026 and protected by copyright, it is open to non-commercial educational use, with potential for wider distribution in the future.
