About the Project

GRR SMART APP is a Graduation Requirement Report which is an innovative digital application proposed to enhance academic administration and student progress monitoring in higher education institutions. The management of graduation requirements, industrial training and student academic records often involves manual processes, fragmented information and repetitive administrative tasks. These challenges may increase staff workload, delay follow-up actions and make it difficult to identify students who have yet to fulfil their graduation requirements. To address these issues, GRR SMART APP is designed as an integrated digital platform that centralises Graduation Requirement Report (GRR) management, industrial training monitoring and student progress tracking within a single system. The proposed application aims to provide a more systematic and accessible approach for students, mentors, programme coordinators, heads of programme and industrial training coordinators to monitor academic progress and identify outstanding requirements. Its proposed features include role-based dashboards, centralised student records, progress status indicators, automated reminders and report generation, with potential integration into existing e-academic systems. By reducing reliance on manual record compilation and improving access to relevant information, the application is expected to enhance administrative efficiency, data consistency, stakeholder coordination and student engagement. In terms of cost-effectiveness and commercialisation, GRR SMART APP offers potential for institutional licensing, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscriptions and customised implementation for universities, university colleges and other higher education institutions. A phased implementation and pilot evaluation can be used to assess usability, operational efficiency, data accuracy and user satisfaction before wider deployment. Overall, GRR SMART APP represents a promising digital innovation that supports the digital transformation of academic administration and promotes more efficient, transparent and student-centred graduation management.
