MediSnap

About the Project

MediSnap is a digital home medication management system developed to help users manage medicines more safely and efficiently. The system uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to scan medicine packaging and identify important medication information. Users can review and verify the information before saving it into a Digital Medicine Cabinet. MediSnap also provides medication-taking reminders, expiry alerts, safety information, and safe disposal guidance to reduce the risk of missed doses, expired medicines, and improper disposal. The system was developed using HTML, JavaScript, Tesseract.js, and local storage. Testing showed that the OCR successfully recognized 29 out of 30 medicine packages, demonstrating its potential to improve household medication management. Overall, MediSnap provides a simple, practical, and user-friendly solution for safer medicine storage, monitoring, and usage at home.
