About the Project

MUET speaking preparation remains challenging for candidates who have limited opportunities for structured practice beyond the classroom. MUETX-Speak was developed as a self-training ecosystem that enables candidates to prepare for MUET Speaking through accessible, task-based and mobile-supported learning. Grounded in Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT), the ecosystem integrates interactive eBooks, simulated MUET speaking tasks, guided self-practice and mobile community support within a structured learning pathway. Rather than functioning as a repository of examination materials, MUETX-Speak engages learners in purposeful speaking tasks that approximate the communicative demands of the MUET Speaking test. The ecosystem supports repeated practice, reflection and increasingly independent preparation while reducing dependence on continuous teacher-led instruction. Preliminary implementation indicates its potential to enhance learners’ confidence, fluency and readiness for speaking tasks. Its low-barrier digital design also provides potential for wider implementation, particularly among candidates with limited access to specialised MUET preparation.
