About the Project

Water quality in pools has been a concern for humans since 2600 BC as microorganisms can widely spread in publicly used pools. This is especially important to homestay with a built-in pool where the owner might have problems in maintaining it directly. This project aims to design and develop a smart pool monitoring system that can automates water quality assessment and chlorine regulation using Internet of Things (IoT) based idea projects. The project idea is to implement a sensor that can detect real time water quality (pH level) and send it to the owner’s device via microcontrollers for quality real time live view. When pH values exceed a predefined threshold, an automated pump controlled by a relay dispenses chlorine to balance the water. The owner can also release Chlorine outside the predefined threshold for subjective purposes. The main objective is to create an efficient and low cost system that reduces the need for manual maintenance as owners might encounter few casualties yet ensures consistent water safety. The prototype will be tested in various pH environments and consistently responded by triggering the chlorine dispenser accurately. Results show that this system offers a promising solution for pool owners seeking automation and improved hygiene management.
