About the Project

Roar Ranger is an educational game developed using Scratch to raise awareness of wildlife conservation, particularly the protection of the endangered Malayan tiger. Inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 15 (Life on Land), the project aims to educate pupils about the threats faced by wildlife, including illegal hunting, habitat loss and the need to protect endangered species. The game features four interactive levels. In Level 1, players use a radar system to detect hunters threatening wildlife. In Level 2, players use special dizzy mushrooms to stop hunters and prevent further harm to animals. In Level 3, players chase hunters using animal power cards, highlighting the importance of protecting wildlife from illegal hunting. In Level 4, players navigate through a maze to obtain medicine, reinforcing the importance of caring for injured animals and supporting wildlife conservation. Through engaging gameplay, interactive challenges and environmental storytelling, Roar Ranger combines digital creativity, problem-solving and computational thinking with environmental education. The game encourages pupils to understand the importance of protecting endangered species and preserving their natural habitats. Ultimately, Roar Ranger aims to inspire young learners to become wildlife guardians who support biodiversity conservation and help safeguard the future of the Malayan tiger.
