About the Project

Physical fitness is a vital component of student health and athletic development, yet Malaysia’s national fitness assessment system, Ujian SEGAK, faces significant challenges in data accuracy and administrative efficiency. Traditional testing methods rely on manual counting, physical rulers, and paper forms, leading to human error, data anomalies (up to 6.9%), and severe teacher burnout. Furthermore, inaccurate fitness logging directly jeopardizes students' PAJSK records, which are critical for university admissions, sports school selections, and athletic talent identification. To address these gaps, the SEGAK Kit was developed as an automated, IoT-based physical assessment station. Featuring a unique fold-to-box portable chassis, the kit integrates an ESP32 microcontroller, RC522 RFID technology for instant "tap-and-go" student identification, an LCD display, and dedicated activity selection controls. High-precision ultrasonic sensors automate repetition counting (Push-ups and Sit-ups) and exact reach distance measurements (Sit and Reach), while an interactive buzzer provides real-time audio feedback. Upon test completion, fitness metrics automatically sync to a cloud-based Google Sheet via Wi-Fi. Empirical testing demonstrates that the SEGAK Kit reduces assessment and data-entry time by up to 50% while achieving a 0% error rate. The fully digital workflow eliminates paper waste, saving an estimated 125 trees per million students. Built for under RM150, the SEGAK Kit offers an eco-friendly, highly scalable, and cost-effective solution for nationwide implementation, directly supporting UN Sustainable Development Goals for Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), and Responsible Consumption (SDG 12).
