About the Project

The Shariah Corporate Integrity Index (SCII) is an innovative automated scoring system that evaluates corporate integrity and transparency through Natural Language Processing (NLP) and textual analysis of annual reports. Designed specifically for Shariah-compliant publicly listed companies, SCII integrates three algorithmic pillars: Integrity Tone Density, Disclosure Clarity, and Dual-Narrative Alignment. The system analyses ethical language, narrative readability, and consistency between management and Shariah-related disclosures to generate an intuitive 0–100 integrity score rating. SCII provides regulators, investors, auditors, and fund managers with an objective, scalable early-warning tool to identify potential narrative manipulation and enhance corporate transparency, accountability, and integrity in Malaysian public companies.
