About the Project
ABSTRACT This project is carried out to develop a solar tracking and battery charging system for green energy in a garden. The system is designed to improve the efficiency of solar energy collection by automatically adjusting the position of the solar panel according to the direction of sunlight. The main problem addressed is the limited efficiency of fixed solar panels, as their position cannot continuously follow the movement of the sun throughout the day. To overcome this problem, a solar tracking system is developed using an Arduino, LDR sensors, servo motor, current sensor, solar panel, and rechargeable battery. The LDR sensors detect the intensity of sunlight from different directions and send the readings to the Arduino. The Arduino then controls the servo motor to adjust the solar panel towards the direction with higher light intensity. The solar panel converts sunlight into electrical energy, while the current sensor monitors the charging current supplied to the battery. The development process involves circuit design, prototype construction, system control, testing, and performance evaluation. The testing process is carried out to evaluate the movement of the solar panel, sunlight detection, charging current, and battery charging performance. Overall, this project aims to provide a more efficient, environmentally friendly, and automated renewable energy system for use in gardens. The system also has potential for further development to support various electrical applications and improve sustainable energy management in the future.
